Communication Across Barriers is pleased to announce a life-changing two-day Poverty Institute with Dr. Donna Beegle in Portland, Oregon on August 13th and 14th. You will spend 2 days in interactive sessions with Dr. Beegle to gain strategies for assisting students and families to move out and stay out of poverty. Using role play, activities, modeling and dialog, Donna will weave in core concepts with concrete strategies and materials that you can use right away to communicate and to work more effectively with people living in the crisis of poverty. Participants will gain skills for understanding, motivating, communicating and for assisting people to get rid of the shame of poverty so they have hope for a better future. The Poverty Institute is designed for professionals from the fields of justice, education, health, and social service. All participants will receive a copy of “See Poverty Be The Difference”- a resource book for assisting people to move out of poverty. Participants will also receive materials to support implementation of lessons learned in the two day poverty institute, and a Communication Across Barriers Poverty Institute completion certificate.
