Two-Day Poverty Institute with Dr. Donna Beegle
Dr. Donna M. Beegle and Communication Across Barriers are pleased to offer a two-day Poverty Institute in Portland, Oregon. The institute will allow participants to explore best practices and gain skills for breaking poverty barriers in their communities. Space is limited so you are encouraged to register early at: http://combarriers.com/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=12
Participants who complete the Poverty Institute are also qualified for the certified Coaching Institute on January 21 and 22. The Coaching Institute gives participants the tools to serve as poverty coaches in their organization. A poverty coach is trained to conduct "Poverty 101" sessions as well as "Communicating and Working More Effectively" sessions for in-house staff. Coaches serve as local experts for breaking poverty barriers and improving outcomes. Communication Across Barriers Coaches will be trained to conduct Poverty Competency Assessments, help organizations and communities to develop one-year action plans, and assist with follow-up on those action plans. To be certified for one-year as a Communication Across Barriers Coach, participants must attend a two-day Poverty Institute, a two-day Coaching Institute, subscribe to an informational best practice newsletter, and participate in four interactive coaching webinars with Dr. Donna M. Beegle. After one-year, participants are invited to attend a recertification session. Coaching Institute participants receive Dr. Donna M. Beegle's "See Poverty...Be The Difference" resource book, and a coaching tool kit that includes an educational two-hour, five session dvd and companion workbook.
